Hi! I’m Tumelo Fani, originally from Botswana and currently based in Rochester, New York, where I am pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Marketing and Strategy at Simon Business School.

I have 6 years of experience driving customer-led growth across consulting, tech, and energy sectors. I aspire to become a subject expert in consumer behavior, and as part of my MBA journey, I’m excited to be exploring how AI shapes the way we address customer problems.

I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Botswana, where I graduated top of my class in 2018. I began my career as a sales agent in FMCG, gaining firsthand insights into consumer behavior before transitioning into strategy and product marketing.

Since then, I’ve influenced product development and investment decisions by transforming customer feedback, market research, and competitive analysis into actionable strategies.

I’ve also led go-to-market execution for products impacting 4M+ users in Africa through programs like Meta Accelerator, Stanford Seed, and UNICEF U-Report.

Most recently, I interned at Amazon as a Senior Marketing Manager, evaluating the efficiency of marketing strategies during major sales events to optimize on-site product discoverability.
